Unreal-Minimal
This Unreal Engine project is configured to be lightweight, fast to compile, and focused exclusively on Windows development.
Heavy rendering features such as Lumen, Nanite, and Raytracing have been fully disabled to reduce hardware requirements and improve editor performance.
The target plaftorm is set to Windows only, again to reduce compilation time.
Disabled Plugins (Summary)
The project removes most optional, experimental, or platform-specific plugins, including:
- All mobile-related plugins (Android, iOS, AR, media playback, device profiles, online subsystems).
- Most media, import/export, and data interchange tools (Interchange, Datasmith, media players, advanced importers).
- Advanced animation, rigging, and modeling tools (Control Rig, IKRig, modeling tools, cloth simulation).
- Various debugging, build acceleration, and editor-side utilities not needed for a lightweight workflow.
- Additional niche or high-overhead plugins such as MetaHuman, Chaos extensions, and denoising systems.
Only a minimal set of essential editor plugins remains enabled.
Purpose
This setup provides a clean, minimal Unreal environment ideal for:
- rapid prototyping,
- gameplay-focused development,
- projects not targeting mobile or high-end cinematic rendering,
- reduced compile times and editor load.
